The second series of memories focused on objects frozen in blocks of ice.
Exploring how an object sits in our minds and every time we come across the object or similar the memory of a time, a person and a conversation spring back to life.
24 x 36 inches. C-type
A continuous-tone silver halide photo print
- Our C-types are professional colour photo prints made on brilliant white silver halide papers, created exclusively for gallery-standard reproduction. Continuous tone means no visible dot pattern – just smooth gradients, natural skin tones and exceptional detail. Expect incredible depth, beautifully vibrant colour and rich blacks.
- Printed using the traditional silver halide process these premium papers offer excellent image stability and a distinctive photographic look that’s hard to replicate digitally.
Produced to order and shipped from the nearest global facility. Fully tracked delivery.
The Story Behind This Collection
Series 2 - Frozen 2014
Frozen is Michael Miller's exploration of preservation and the passage of time. Everyday objects suspended within blocks of ice are caught between two states - present yet unreachable, visible yet slowly disappearing. As the ice distorts and refracts the light, the objects beneath take on a dreamlike quality, echoing the way memories themselves become altered and abstracted over time.

About the Artist
Michael Miller's practice centres on the abstraction of reality - using a hybrid of photographic techniques across multiple disciplines to create an emotional connection with the viewer. His work inhabits a realm of deliberate ambiguity, where he believes an intangible beauty resides: visually poetic, artful rather than merely documentary.
Michael has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra, the Head On Portrait Prize, the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize at the NSW State Library, and at the BBA Gallery Berlin. He was voted Australia's Top Emerging Art Photographer by Capture Magazine in 2018, and has been recognised with awards from the IPA, PX3, and D&AD, among others.
