Bespoke fine art print framing service in partnership with WhiteWall Germany — museum-quality framing for photography prints

Professional Online Framing for Fine Art Photography

At The Very Fine Art Gallery, we believe framing is part of the artwork itself. The materials, proportions, glass, mount, finish, and presentation all shape how a piece feels once it is finally on the wall.

That is why we now offer a bespoke framing service in partnership with WhiteWall in Germany.

Rather than simply choosing a standard off-the-shelf frame yourself, we guide you personally through the process and have the finished work produced and delivered directly to your home.

The idea is simple:

  • you choose the photograph
  • we discuss the presentation together
  • we create the perfect finished piece for your space

And importantly, we do not add extra markup onto the framing itself. We simply pass WhiteWall's framing cost directly on to you as part of the final total.

The Process

The process is intentionally personal because no two interiors - or collectors - are the same.

Step 1 - Choose Your Artwork

You begin by selecting one of our photographic works from the gallery collections.

Some people already know exactly which image they want. Others begin with a room, a mood, a colour palette, or simply a feeling they want the space to have.

Both approaches work perfectly.

Very often, the conversation evolves naturally from there.

Step 2 - Contact Me Directly

Once you have selected a piece, we discuss the framing together personally.

This is where bespoke framing becomes valuable.

We can talk through:

  • the room the work is going into
  • wall size and ceiling height
  • whether the piece should feel minimal or statement-making
  • modern versus classic presentation
  • whether the image suits matting or a clean borderless look
  • wood tones versus black or white frames
  • thin gallery profiles versus deeper premium mouldings
  • acrylic versus museum glass
  • light levels in the room
  • reflection control
  • overall budget

This part matters more than people often realise.

The same photograph can feel completely different depending on how it is framed.

At The Very Fine Art Gallery, we spend a great deal of time thinking about how photography lives within interiors, not just how it looks on a screen. Framing is part of that conversation.

Everything is made specifically for the artwork and your chosen dimensions.

Matts / Passe-Partouts

One of the biggest advantages of bespoke framing is control over the passe-partout - or matt.

WhiteWall offers museum card stock matting in multiple colours and adjustable widths, custom-cut specifically for the image.

A wider matt can make a photograph feel quieter, more refined, and more gallery-like.

A minimal matt - or no matt at all - creates a cleaner contemporary presentation.

For some works, particularly minimalist architecture or modern travel photography, we often prefer a very clean presentation with either a slim matt or a built-in white border.

For more classic black-and-white pieces, a larger museum-style matt can completely elevate the work.

It depends on both the image and the space it will live in.

Glass Options

This is another area where professional framing makes a major difference.

WhiteWall offers different glazing options depending on the final presentation and environment.

We can discuss:

Acrylic Glass

Often the most practical choice for larger works.

It is:

  • lighter
  • safer to transport
  • easier to hang
  • less reflective than standard glass in some situations
  • ideal for larger contemporary pieces

Especially once prints become substantial in size, acrylic becomes a very sensible option.

Museum Glass / Anti-Reflective Glass

For collectors or more premium installations, museum-quality glazing can dramatically reduce reflections while also offering UV protection.

This creates a much quieter viewing experience where the image becomes the focus rather than the room reflected in the surface.

It is particularly effective in spaces with:

  • large windows
  • strong daylight
  • spot lighting
  • interior lighting opposite the artwork

Once people see good museum glass in person, they immediately understand the difference.

Why Bespoke Framing Matters

People often spend a long time choosing artwork, then treat the framing as an afterthought.

But framing changes how art lives in a space.

It affects:

  • scale
  • presence
  • light
  • contrast
  • depth
  • warmth
  • how premium the work feels
  • how the room itself feels

Done well, the frame disappears and the artwork simply feels right.

That is always the goal at The Very Fine Art Gallery.

Not simply to sell a print, but to help create a finished piece that genuinely belongs in your home and becomes part of your everyday environment.

Delivered Directly To You

Once finalised, your order is produced through WhiteWall in Germany and shipped directly to you.

Everything is made to order.

Because this is bespoke production, it allows access to a far higher level of finish and material quality than standard ready-made framing.

It also means each piece is being created specifically around the artwork you selected from our collections.

Final Thought

At The Very Fine Art Gallery, we have always believed that photography should live with people properly - not remain something distant or only experienced digitally.

A beautifully framed piece changes a room.

It changes how you experience a space every day.

If you are interested in creating a bespoke framed piece from one of our photographic collections, simply get in touch and we can discuss the options together personally.
