As I photographed the old negatives, I noticed that the colours visible on the physical film were more vivid than those in my original scans. I began looking at the material again, scanning the negatives as both negative and reversal film and combining the results to explore the unexpected colours, textures and forms hidden within them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis work has a darker, more dramatic character, with deep black and violet areas contrasted against pale blue, lavender, turquoise and warm peach tones. Layers of damaged emulsion, marks and fragments overlap across the surface, while a strong horizontal structure gives the image a sense of depth and movement.
